Road Running – Event Adjudicators Needed in Dorset

Could you help support road running in Dorset?

We’re looking to increase the number of volunteer England Athletics Event Adjudicators in the area. These volunteers play a vital role in ensuring licensed road races can take place – without an adjudicator, a licensed race cannot be held.

If you have previous experience in race organisation (Race Director or a similar role), this could be a fantastic way to stay involved in the sport.

What’s involved?
✅ You can still run in the races you adjudicate (some events will offer you a free race entry).
✅ England Athletics reimburses travel expenses for up to 100 miles.
✅ Contact the race organiser before the event and review key documents, such as the risk & medical assessments.
✅ On race day, complete the England Athletics checklist – much of this can be seen whilst taking part in the race i.e water stations & signage”

✅ Submit a simple online report afterwards, which takes no more than15 minutes.
✅ There is no minimum commitment – you choose which events you’d like to support.

It’s a rewarding way to give something back to the running community while helping maintain the high standards of licensed events. If you’re not racing, it’s also a great opportunity to stay involved in road and multi-terrain running.

Interested in finding out more? Please message & we will put you in touch with one of our current adjudicators, or contact England Athletics directly at info@runbritain.com or complete their online application form.

Please share this post with anyone who may be interested – the more adjudicators we have in Dorset, the stronger our local running community will be! 🙌
