DESCRIPTION:“The Vitality Bournemouth Bay Run will take place on 22nd March 2026 set against the backdrop of Bournemouth’s famous seven-mile stretch of golden sand. We are delighted to have Dorset Mind\, Forest Holme Hospice\, Bournemouth Foodbank\, and Healthbus Trust returning as our Charity Partners for 2026. \nThe Half Marathon starts from Pier Approach at 10:00. Entries are open to participants aged 17 and over. Race entries close on 19th March 2026 (or sooner if the race reaches capacity) but runners signing up after 15th March will need to collect their bibs from the Info Tent (in the Race Village in Bournemouth Lower Gardens)\, rather than receive them in the post. We would suggest signing up sooner\, as this race typically reaches capacity before entries close. \nFurther information\, route maps\, and runner info (once ready) can be found on our website and in our FAQs. DESCRIPTION:Portland 10 mile  \nIn 1980 three bored sailors stationed at the Royal Naval Air Station came up with the idea of a 10 mile race on Portland\, the cost was 40 pence to enter! \nToday the race has developed into a testing 10 mile route that will see you run a lap and a half around the top of the island\, from one end of the island\, Portland Heights Hotel (385 ft)\, to the other\, Portland Bill (30 ft) \nThe route is undulating\, on tarmac roads and pavements and goes through built up areas as well as following long stretches of coastal roads.

County championship eligibility:\n. Born in Dorset\n. Nine months continuous residence in Dorset immediately prior to the date of the race.\n. Nine months service in HM Forces stationed in Dorset immediately prior to the date of the race.\n. No athlete is allowed to compete in the Championships of more than one County in any one nine month period.
