SUMMARY:Boscombe 10k (inc. U17)
DESCRIPTION:​The annual Boscombe 10K race organised by Bournemouth Joggers ladies’ running club\, is a chip-timed undulating open road race. The route is fully marshalled. We welcome runners of all abilities\, from top local athletes to runners competing in their first 10K race. \nRace medal for all finishers. Information on prizes for individual age categories and teams can be found under our Race Categories section. \nRefreshments and toilet facilities in the stadium. \nEntrants must be 15 years or over on race day. \nPlease note\, the course is unsuitable for wheelchairs. Dogs or pushchairs are NOT allowed. \nFor this year’s event\, numbers can be collected on the day. Final race instructions\, including confirmation of any bag drop and changing facilities will be sent out roughly 10-14 days before the race. \nThe race is held under UK Athletics Rules\, UKA Full Race Licence ID: 2023/47538. Course Measurement Certificate of Accuracy 23/256 \nThere will also be a children’s 1.5K Fun Run\, which will take place before the main event at 9.30am. The Fun Run starts and finishes in the stadium; there are prizes for the first boy and girl under 10 and under 15\, all finishers receive a race medal. Entry is online only and costs £5.00. DESCRIPTION:The course is mostly flat\, but with a challenging double loop around Bowleaze. \nRunners start and finish the 10 mile route at the Pavilion end of Weymouth Esplanade. \nParking is available in the Pavilion carpark\, or there is on-street parking along the seafront which is only a few minutes walk from Race HQ\, or finally the Swannery Carpark (10-15 minute walk). DESCRIPTION:In 2022\, the race was 30 years old\, and it was great to be back after the previous two races had to be cancelled. In 2023 the race will be on Sunday\, 6th August and will be a Dorset Road Race League Race. \n\nThe Half marathon starts…\n\n\nat 10.30am in Station Road\, and the route goes through Manston\, Margaret Marsh\, Stour Row and Todber\, returning through Moorside and Hinton to finish on the High School playing field.

DESCRIPTION:Portland 10 mile  \nIn 1980 three bored sailors stationed at the Royal Naval Air Station came up with the idea of a 10 mile race on Portland\, the cost was 40 pence to enter! \nToday the race has developed into a testing 10 mile route that will see you run a lap and a half around the top of the island\, from one end of the island\, Portland Heights Hotel (385 ft)\, to the other\, Portland Bill (30 ft) \nThe route is undulating\, on tarmac roads and pavements and goes through built up areas as well as following long stretches of coastal roads.
